Tasty place in the heart of Hilo with a funny happy hour concept. Price changes depending on the section you’re seating in. Service is very good, Staff friendly and food tasty. Good Poke but not the best one I had on the island. If you feel like a drink, definitely go for their Lilikoi Margarita drink. #delicious#BonAppetit

Best fish and chips I’ve had in Hawaii and most likely one of my favourite restaurants on Big Island. The batter of the fish and chips is so light and crunchy and they’re very generous on sauces and sides. We opted for the sweet potato fries and coleslaw, the slaw was ok but potato fries were great. I ordered the Fish Bowl which had a nice spicy kick from the spicy aioli drizzled all over the fish, veggies and jasmine rice. Although the fish was a tad over cooked, the flavours made up for it. The pineapple iced tea isn’t sweet like we expected – I liked it but my partner didn’t. It has a true tea flavour which I’m a fan of. Would return here and recommend to friends!

Great value and large serving sizes. There was live music as well. Service was friendly. The chicken wings and the ribs (which came with the local plate) were amazing. Prices are reasonable too.

If you are ever in Hilo, you have to eat here!!! One of the best meals we have had so far in Hawaii. Service was excellent and the food was phenomenonal! I got the Kalbi ribs with clam chowder. First of all the clam chowder was amazing! It came with clam, crab, corn, bacon and potatoes. There was 4 big beef short ribs and it was marinaded to perfection and it was super tender and it was only $15. My husband got the grilled Ono fish sandwich and he couldn’t stop raving about it. Said it was the best meal he has eaten so far and I totally agreed. Our meal was only $30 totally reasonable and it was fantastic. Recommend this place to everyone.

Hilo, Hawaii is a tourist- driven area and the downtown has several places ideal for an afternoon lunch or dinner. One that my family and I tried and liked is Pineapples Island Cuisine, a restaurant noted for its great tasting and visually appealing food and good service. With a name like Pineapples Island Cuisine, many who visit here might expect a menu comprised of Hawaiian cuisine, but it isnt like that. There are some tropically influenced foods and beverages, but the menu contains lots of other choices. I learned that the choice of names is also meant to emphasize the fact that the restaurant strives to get its food from local sources. The point is, dont come here thinking the menu is nothing Hawaiian food because it isnt. There is something here for everyone. For my meal at Pineapples Island Cuisine, I ordered the chicken wrap with a side of macaroni salad. Both of my menu choices were great, well seasoned and with assorted fresh ingredients. My kids loved their food options as well, although my youngest will be the first to admit that she was overwhelmed by the massive size of her plate of nachos. The rest of the family had to help her finish and we were fine with that, as the food was all very tasty. Pineapples Island Cuisine has an open atmosphere; that is, the walls are open and without windows, so there is a constant breeze blowing in. This is nice if you like fresh air, but be forewarned that they usually do not use the air conditioning, so it could prove a little uncomfortable for the more heat- sensitive diners among us. I always try to visit local places of dining when I travel and Pineapples Island Cuisine turned out to be a very good choice for an early dinner. The food is easily better than average, the service attentive, and the prices fair. Its a nice place to visit on your next trip to Hilo, on Hawaiis big island. greatbeernow.com

Fantastic. Great everything and an amazing value too. Location, ambiance, service, live music and food leave nothing to be desired. I can’t begin to describe how good the flank steak and fish were. Great drink prices and selection too.
