Yes, Greek is correct if pita stuffed with lamb is Greek. But, the seasoning is Asian, and this place rocks for it’s Ahi Don, not it’s gyros(which it doesn’t serve). Hilos best side salads, inspired by Miyo, who started this place and who remains the culinary inspiration. Fresh food, locally sourced(when can) and always good technique, makes this place a first choice lunch stop. Parking can be tough, especially Weds so grab one when you see it. Highly recommended.
Puka Puka serves a fusiin…. Puka Puka serves a fusion of asian and greek. I tried the Ahi Don plate (my favorite), Spicey BBQ chicken, Sauteed Lamb and the Lamb Pita. All served with rice and salad with an asian dressing. The place is a bit small with 4 tables and a bar. People were in line waiting to get their share of dishes. Luckily the food is quickly served so that the line moved quickly.
