Great margaritas
If you are in the mood for Mexican…. … then you just might be disappointed. The location is superior – Hilo Bay front is awesome. Sadly, it goes straight downhill from there.If you truly crave Mexican food, drive up to Keaa’u. Go to the Farmer’s Market, and get anything on the menu of the little Mexican place on the right hand corner. This guy goes fishing in the middle of the night, and serves up his catch in plates or burritos. Yum.Reuben’s is sort of there for the cruise ship passengers who elect to spend the day walking the Bay Front instead of venturing up the mountain to see the volcano. It’s just not very good, and survives because people like Mexican food, and must forgive it its shortcomings because it’s in Hawaii…Best Bay Front dining in Hilo is Cafe Pesto.
Best Mexican food in the islands! Had the chile verde nacho deluxe, which was enough to feed 3-4 peole. And their magaritas are great too. I have to go there every time I’m in Hilo.
I love their Lilikoi Magaritas
Seems like a good mexican food place until you taste the food. The Mexican rice was a poor attempt, beans were scraped from the bottom of a burnt pan and the tacos were at best poor ( seemed like store bought taco shells). Margaritas were good although served in a glass
You can’t beat the food or the price! Not fancy surroundings, sometimes a bit noisy but always GREAT food!
