Fried food extravaganza at this vendor amidst the food truck market in Haleiwa. The fish tacos were coated with an amazing fluffy batter on the soft, juicy, flaky fish loaded with veggies. Amazingly filling but also almost scalding hot.I also fell in love with Maui onions. A sweeter and plumper brand of onions, the Maui onion rings at Zane’s were pretty great. Using the same batter as the fish tacos, these were definitely worth buying, but incredibly filling. Not a dish we were able to finish easily. The only complaint about this vendor is that with one guy working in it and making the food fresh, the wait time was a bit longer. I’m pretty patient, but there were families who ordered after us who seemed to be losing their minds. I didn’t think it was that bad, but it was a bit of an issue.
Greasy coconut shrimp which tasted of old french fries (old grease) and rude counter service on top of it all, there are many shrimp trucks on the north shore, I would recommend that you pass on Zane’s.
Huge Plate o food!. Another of the many food trucks in this town to try. We ordered fish & chips and the pineapple coconut shrimp. The fish I ordered was unquestionably the largest single piece of fried fish I have ever been served. Hopefully you’ll see the picture I took. The fish tasted good, however a little greasy. I enjoyed it very much. My wife had the pineapple coconut shrimp. It too was a generous serving. I could taste the coconut flavor in the batter, pieces of pineapple accompanied the shrimp. I would eat here again. I docked them star reluctantly as the food was too greasy, but good.
