Ate dinner at the Waikiki Hawaii Ruth’s Chris steakhouse on March 11, 2019. Two special occasions to celebrate; Our 50th wedding anniversary and my wife’s birthday. WHAT A DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE! Over the years we have been to many Ruth’s Chris Steakhouses but this one was by far the most disappointed experience ever. The service was very slow and inattentive, very loud, and my steak was not the usual fine quality Rib Eye steak that I have become to expect at a Ruth’s Chris steakhouse. It was tuff and had an excessive amount of fat I had to cut off. BUT the most disappointed aspect of this visit was the TOTAL lack of attention we received from our server. Took almost 20 minutes from the time we sat down just to get our drinks. Should have just walked out at that point but though things would improve but they did not. The server was obviously more interested in serving a larger group he was serving. His lack of attention to our service was terrible. And not that we expected anything free for our special occasion but at the end of dinner they didn’t even offer a free dessert to help us close out our dinner. All of the other Ruth’s Chris steakhouse we have attended on our Anniversary always included special attention to our celebration. Not this place!!! My recommendation if in Honolulu Hawaii don’t go to the Waikiki Ruth’s Chris. instead spend your time at another high end restaurant that will appropriately help you celebrate your special occasion and at least give you the proper attention you deserve, especially when paying these high prices for a meal.
OMG this place is absolutely amazing! I ordered the sirloin and it was perfect in that eyes closed, slow chew, low moaning, make it last forever kind of way that comes around so rarely. I tried the lamb, much to the chagrin of my boyfriend, as he ordered it and was in the midst of intensely ravaging the dish when I asked him to share. He was glad he begrudgingly shared though when I gave him a couple of ounces of my incredible steak. The lamb was freaking fantastic as well. Its a pretty expensive dinner but well probably make it one of our regular date-night locations.
