  Deceitful operation. Always made take out orders at Jose’s. One day the waitress said….you should get an I.D. discount card as many Kaimuki restaurants honor this card….So I did! Tonight I placed a telephone takeout order and made sure that they accepted the ID discount card when I placed the order. The waitress said , yes they accepted it. Send my husband down to pick up the order and he came home saying they did not honor it for take outs. I was upset as I had asked that question when ordering and was assured that they did. Called back and spoke to manager, Brian and he apologized for his girls being misinformed. He took my phone number and said that he would call me back to see what he could do. He never called back. I called him back and told him to forget it as I never want to go back to Jose’s. Very pricey anyway for Mexican Food.

  Great Food!!. We went to Jose’s on a monday night. it wasent crowded so we were seated right away. Our waitress was nice and helpful. She suggested the Macho nachos for an appitiser. They were Delish! I also had their special Mole sauce. She said it was a family recipie made from scratch. THis was the BEST MOLE I HAVE EVER HAD!!!! I was so sad when my enchilladas were gone. I could of drank the sauce! I Also tried the Real Margarita made with Cazadorez (one of my favorite tequilas!). It was a bit too strong, i think the bartender had a happy heavy hand….but Still really good. I want to try their scratch Agave margarita next time! I would dine here again. probley with a bunch of friends so we could all enjoy all their different margaritas.

  Horrible!. Did take out and the food was very bland and very over priced for what you get. Probably the worst Mexican food I have ever had. Will never go back.

  Margaritas. We ate there this past week. The food was a little overcooked but the worst part was the margaritas. We ordered a pitcher and the taste was terrible-not just strong but bitter!!. Our waitress tried to add more mix but it didn’t help. We couldn’t drink them and were very disappointed.

  Wasn’t very impressed with Jose’s. The food was ok and definitely not worth the drive from the west side of the island. They give you a free basket of tortilla chips but the salsa tasted spoiled so we just ate the chips. I ordered the crab enchilladas which was smothered in cheese. Crab tasted like it came out of a can and was pretty tasteless. My boy friend ordered beef enchilladas and he said it was so-so. The service was great, our waitress was very friendly and attentative. I agree with a previous reviewer about the place being dirty. There were only 3 tables seated when we got there at 7pm on a Saturday, that should’ve been our first clue. No other customers came in while we were there. Maybe we ordered the wrong things off the menu but don’t think we’ll be back to find out. Still on our quest to find an authentic mexican restaurant….

  Place is junk. Hate to say this but this place charges way too much for food that just is so-so. I just crave getting a real/decent plate of Mexican food out here in Honolulu. Don’t waste your time/money and risk getting sick here if you’re going to eat. On the other hand…if you are only drinking and want to watch sports, this place is half bar so that might be okay as they have plenty of screens…just wish they turned the volume off…it was distracting.

  Disgusting and dirty. These words describe not only the dining room but also the food. I wouldn’t eat here again even if it was free.
