Awful. We were pretty disappointed in the whole thing,. For $80+ apiece, we expected more. The pig was good but the buffet had what tasted like (safeway deli) potato salad and safeway deli coleslaw and green salad from a bag. add in white rice and poi. It looked like a piece of chocolate cake for desert but it did not taste like chocolate cake! The Mai-Tais were good but heck, anybody can make a Mai-Tai. The entertainment was hokey even though the dancers appeared very talented. And when we decided to take a short walk on the beautiful adjacent moonlit beach, the security people would not let us leave the area (even though the people from Great Life Tours told us we could go on the beach) I would not recommend Germaines, we still feel ripped off the next day.Sign me disappointed in Waikiki,
This is the Memorial Day of Hawaiian luau’s. Pretty good food, though the 1 pig they ceremonially lift out of the sand is unlikely to feed the entire crowd. Great show, great drinks. If you tell the bartender to put some stank on it, the drink is made extra strong!!!
The entertainment to and from was great. It’s a nice little spot on the beach north of the city. They spend a lot of time doing activities and intros instead of hula dancing. The food could have been better; mostly stuff you can eat anywhere minus 2 native Hawaiian dishes (a small coconut dessert square and some salmon salsa stuff). Food could be better.
OMG this is terrible, if you have anything better to do at night, put out snail repellant, wash your dog….. Do it.The MC is straight from New Price is right, the show is awful and primarily aimed at the audience involvement. The Polynesian show was awful and in particular the Samoan show, it was no where near traditional, being Samoan I was embarrassed. The food was ok, the drinks were ok, the highlight was the bus trip home.In a rating of 10, this was 1. Seriously people save yourself the trip and go for dinner in Waikiki.
I enjoyed the show, it is what it is, a tourist trap. The dancers were very beautiful and the meat was very good. The gift shop is expensive. Is it worth the money? That just depends on how much your money means to you. For me I wouldn’t do it again for the cost, but it was enjoyable.
Best Luau Around!. Great cousin guide, fantastic show, and delicious food. Right on the beach.
