Love their poke. Driving up to the store you would never dream of the delcious choices that they have available behind their meat and fish counter. A must stop for tailgaters! Their masago poke is to die for! Don’t have their plate lunches unless you are ready to take a long nap with a smile. Everything that we’ve tried is delicious and a price that won’t burn a hole in your wallet.
Dion and the rest of the crew are the best! If you like fresh poke this is the place to go! Well seasoned but not over powering so you can enjoy the fish. My favorite is the limu ahi.
The best Ahi and Raw crab poki ever. The ahi poki just melts in your melt. Great on hot rice. Better with poi. The Raw Crab poki is awesome, it’s sweet and spicy and it melts in your mouth like candy. This goes great with poi.
Poke Poke. On a tip from a frequent visitor to Honolulu who we ran in to at Diamond Head farmer’s market (also full of excellent food), we drove over to the other side of town in search of poke. And poke we found in abundance — a glass case stretching the entire back wall containing tako (octopus) and the more common ahi in several preparations, lomi salmon, shrimp, piles of snail-like shellfish, etc. We stared for a good 15 minutes before deciding on three one-pound containers to take back. The convenience store ambiance was not the best (no seating here, this is a takeout place). Plenty of other kinds of freshly cooked snack and lunch food too, like roast pork, spam musubi, teriyaki, rice, poi…As we left I’m sure we were obviously visitors from a colder place — in addition to our poke we were weighed down with a large bottle of cold water, a coke, and shave ice.
