Visit on 6 July 2014. Restaurant trap in the 1950’s. We were a group of 18 with reservation. The restaurant was not rerady to serve and ran out of food. Also very bad managment and table service. Not a place to go. avoid at all cause. The state of the rest rooms was very bad. This place decor is a collection from some basement and garage. Only good thing were the local singers.
On our trip to Honolulu, we ate here two times. It’s an amazingly eclectic piece of Honolulu from the 50’s!! I love the decor and the food ain’t bad either! The garlic edamame is to die for! The drinks- I had a pia colada, were well made! I highly recommend La Mariana for anyone stopping in Honolulu!!!!
We love it. We love the quaint feel of La Mariana. It is a place to come and relax and feel the laid back spirit of the island. The price is within reason and the fish, chip sand beer are great! The service maybe little slow due to understaffed servers, but they greet you with aloha. If you have time and want to get away from the hussle and bussle of Waikiki, I recommend you stop in and take in the beauty of something that is unique to the island. We live here and visit it frequently and we will make it a place to enlighten our out of town visitors of one of Hawaiis best kept secrets
Great ambiance! They have music at 6pm. Really cool place to take visitors.
Amazing location. The setting couldn’t be more beautiful. That’s where the positive experience begins and ends. The service was almost nonexistant, the food was really not edible and the surroundings were filthy. If you want to experience the tiki bar feel go there for a drink and then have your meal elsewhere. We just so wanted to love this place and yet it is impossible to recommend a place with bad service and bad food. We couldn’t even get a second beverage and once the meals were slammed down on the table, the server never even checked back with us until we flagged her down for our check. La Mariana is a famous place with rich history. I am so sorry to see the current management let it die an untimely death.
This was the perfect way to cap off a trip to the island. The atmosphere is a throw back to a sneaky hip Honolulu of old. The people are wonderful, the drinks are strong and the Ahi is to die for. This is now a must stop for our future trips to Oahu.
Another 5-O place. Food is great and atmosphere is something right out of Hawaii 5-O. Marina and airport right there just waiting for the deal to go down…. Lots of industry in the area to complete the look but it’s safe and well lit.
