Grinds for the working man. Local Boys Cafe is mainly a place for the blue collar workers of the various Sand Island/Kalihi area industries to pick up a quick plate of fried rice and spam for breakfast, or whatever plate lunch they might be offering on special come the noon-time whistle. While the food is basic, filling, and reasonably priced, (no complaints here), there is no reason in the world for anyone who lives more than a mile from the cafe to come to it. Nothing unique about it worthy of a special trip. Besides, if they did, and they came by car, they’d have a hard time finding parking; the street parking in this area is scarce weekdays.
