Nine of us. Sunday night. We called from the other side of the island, where we had been hiking, and arrived an hour later, 7:30. The owner/chef was very accommodating for a large party at the last minute. He helped the wait staff serve, and service was prompt. Among us we shared two different lamb dishes, prawns and hand made gnocchi, appetizers and salads, and a couple of desserts. Consistently fresh, well-prepared food, nice touches in seasonings. Gnocchi are hard to do without being heavy or pasty – these were superb. I see that some people think the portions are small, but the cost is fair, compared to the large urban area where we live (Midwest), decent value for very nice food. We paid much more for our one upscale dinner on the Big Island (different style of restaurant but also a good meal – food was less per item here, and in particular the wines here were better priced here. We mostly cooked in while in Hawaii for two weeks, as we found excessive prices for ordinary food many places, and the local market provided amazing fish for grilling. We like this place so much that several of us came back for brunch, which did not disappoint. As with one other review, we’ve eaten all over the world, and we have a couple of great cooks – who grow their own greens, veggies, garlic, herbs, etc. Light, airy – Hawaiian vibe (relaxed) in arty decor.
