We saw the reviews and wanted to stop here before we left. Food was good. We had a rib platter and a chicken/rib platter. With a side of macaroni salad. BBQ sauce was very good. Service was good.
Great chicken! Yes it is a hole in the wall but they have picnic tables you can eat on. Very friendly & they had a steady line of customers while we were there. Will be back!
Don’t drive by this place and not stop for the Sampler. Great meat, great flavor, great beans, great people! My picky wife declared this the BEST FOOD on Kauai. I have to agree. It’s simple and delicious!!
SOOO GOOD!. ONLY regret was that we tried this place on our last day in Kauai, was the best meal we had during our stay! We had combo 4 plus coleslaw. Chicken was completely falling off the bone, ribs weren’t as fall off the bone but i like a little texture on my ribs so they were perfect for me. coleslaw with a tropical flare was a great addition! the chef came out TWICE to ask how things were which was really sweet. GO NOW!!!
Great food!. Our family was walking Kapaa yesterday and the breeze was blowing the right way. We walked for a couple blocks not knowing where we were heading following the terrific BBQ smell. By the time we arrived at the source we were famished. My wife and I had the Sampler with Hawaiian slaw and boys had a chicken and beef burrito. It was all delicious! The ribs were my favourite. The owner, Pepper, gave us directions to good beaches and surf spots and talked for a while about his and the restaurant history. Really nice guy and very personable. We will go back for sure.
Something to crow about. Chicken in a Barrel BBQ has some of the best chicken Ive ever tasted. My husband and I enjoyed the chicken lunch special for two and a side of corn bread, which was enough food for three people. My stepdaughter enjoyed her Cesar salad with chicken on top. We found the feral chickens walking through the restaurant a hoot! The staff was very nice. We will return next time were on island.
The chicken was so good the meat literally fell off the bone. I’ve been in kauai a week now and this is the best meal I’ve had.
