This wonderful restaurant has closed its doors as the owners have decided to focus on their Real Estate business in Kauai.They sold the place to a young couple who started Al Pastor tacos. You must try Al Pastor, they have the best pork tacos, and the fish is so fresh it is delicious!
GARLIC SHRIMP. This is a garlic lover’s dream. The succulent shrimp is soaked in flavorful garlic sauce. the portion is just the right size and ask for the special sauce of ginger and some exotic spices. rice and salad make it a full meal. It is open all day so it is a great stop for any time of hte day when I drive by.
Upon discovering this new place to eat I’ve been back several times. I’ve only tried their BBQ-Jerk Chicken sandwich and it is delicious. I suspect that the other items on their menu are great too, but when I find something I like I stay with it.Spicy Island Grill is a shiny new lunch wagon located just to the south of Otsuka’s Furniture store. Their operation, equipment and cooking facility is new and extremely clean, which is welcome for someone as finicky as me. In talking with the owners Claire and Robert, I’ve learned that the BBQ-Jerk flavor is a special family recipe handed down through several generations from the Caribbean Island of Trinidad where Claire was born and raised. Her husband Robert was a Food Critic for local news in the San Diego area where they met, so he knows what good food should taste like. Together they opened this great new addition to our choice of restaurants on Kauai.
