Delicioso!! In Hawi, The Big Island. Hawi is a very small town with several places to eat. We asked a charming woman in a lovely shop at which place she likes to eat. Of her several recommendations we chose Mi Rancito. This gem of a place is in between two other buildings in the back. We found a table, studied the menu, went up to the counter and placed our order. I discovered Chili Verde forty five years ago in California and have enjoyed it dozens of places. Mi Ranchito takes Chili Verde to a new level. It was by far the best I have ever eaten. All our food was prepared in the small area visible behind the counter. Each of our meals was delicious. Who would have thought that my best ever Mexican meal would be eaten in Hawaii?
