Absolutely surprised me. The place was at first a bit hard to find (I blame Apple maps) but they had a nice parking lot in the back. When we walked in, I found the place to be very inviting. We sat down and were handed our menus, which put me off a little at first. They were made of paper with no laminate and 1/2 of it was appetizers, with the other half left for salads and the actual entrees. I was afraid I had made a bad choice of picking this place until our waitress came to assist us. It was then I discovered all the hidden items on the menu. (Ex: specialty pasta for the day, specialty fish for the day, etc.) I ended up taking the fish with mashed potatoes (I forget the exact variety of potato but it was a very rich and definitely exemplified its root-likeness) with a mint tea. I still was unsure if I was going to get the great meal the other reviewers had promised on this app… Until the meal came out. They had layered everything so perfectly so that the juices from the fish soaked downward into the potato, and then the curry esque sauce would sink in from the sides, creating a whirlwind of epic flavor. It was not only my plate which was divine. Our family was going from plate to plate testing all of the different meals. All were great. At the end of the meal, we ended up getting dessert (besides the fact that it was my birthday and I wanted cake, the chefs had actually managed the portions so well so that we surprisingly had room for it.) The cheesecake was decent, but the real thing that ended up sealing the deal was the pudding another member of our family got. Above the pudding (if I remember correctly) there was a pool of caramel and sea salt. NEVER IN MY LIFE WOULD I HAVE THOUGHT SUCH A COMBINATION COULD BE POSSIBLE. The texture of the sea salt combined with the richness of the caramel went perfectly with the creaminess of the pudding. I regret not getting it instead.
Wonderful service & breakfast!. Attentive service, friendly, efficient – 3 different staff helped us out.I had the French toast with sliced bananas, and my husband had the white egg veggie omelet with the best potatoes ever. All terrific. A new favorite spot!
Incredible! Triple D worthy
Amazing dinner at Cafe Haleiwa! Polenta crostini with olive tapenade and salamis was outstanding! Salad could have used a little more dressing. Entrees (gnocchi and fish) were very good.
My new favorite breakfast spot! Awesome breakfast potatoes.
NEW!!! Open for dinner on Weds-Sat. Reservation a good idea on weekends. First course salads are delicious and unique, using locally grown produce. Entrees, again, delicious!! The lamb was a winner as is the home made gnocchi.24 Nov, 2011A Sunday ritual! Bring a healthy appetite. The best Eggs Benedict I’ve ever had bar none. Only served on the weekend. Be prepared to wait a little while for a table, but the wait is worth it.
Blueberry Pancakes!. Awesome place to relax and have great food and fresh tropical juice.
