Yummy!. Drove up around 7:00pm after spending the afternoon on the North Shore. My boyfriend looked it up and saw some good reviews so we decided to try it. Small quaint place with a hip ambience. I got the tofu coconut soup and pineapple curry and my boyfriend ordered the Gulf of Thailand. My soup was so incredible and fresh. And the curry was a bit spicy but I loved it. The Gulf of Thailand was excellent as well. We loved the BYOB, the corking fee was $10 which was a bit steep for 2 bottles of beer, but worth it. I also liked that alot of there ingredients are organic. I can’t wait to visit Hawaii again and dine there!
Will never eat here again!. I have to admit that I’m very surprised by what I deem as a very high rating for this place. I took my little girl out for a mommy/daughter date & let her pick the place. I was glad when she chose this place because I had been wanting to try it. By the time we were done, I was wishing she hadn’t. The food was way overpriced for how nasty it was & the service sucked. When we first got there, my daughter was scared by a customer’s dog that was tied to the outside railing. It ended up going after 3 other dogs (one of which it actually bit into) & any human that happened to walk by, including other customers entering the restaurant. But the waiter seemed too preoccupied with the dog’s scantly clad owner to ask her to do anything about it. Then, as we were seated, we were given menus that had whiteout on them. No joke. Not on the paper itself but on the plastic covering. Really??? How hard would it have been to reprint a corrected menu instead of being so ghetto? Seriously? But there are some places that look really ghetto but still have awesome food so I was trying not to let that influence me.We ordered spring rolls as our appetizers. They were supposed to be vegetarian but ended up nastily tasting like fish. I suspect that they were fried in really old oil that all the fish items were fried in.Our entrees came out shortly after that. (I should mention that both the appetizer and the entrees were brought out by a female that was not our waiter because he was still busy bending over backward to serve the half naked lady. Her table was the only one of the 4 outside tables that had customers to get any real service from him.) My daughter had the pineapple fried rice with tofu which ended up being good. Not excellent but good. I, on the other hand, had the pad thai with tofu. The noodles, mung beans, & sauce on mine were delicious but the tofu was nasty. Some of it you could tell had been cooked, recooked & then recooked again. It was very hard & rubbery. The rest of it seemed barely cooked at all. It was way too soft & mushy. Gross, gross, gross! When we were halfway through our meal, the waiter finally came over to see how things were. I showed him my pile of tofu that I had picked out of my food & explained how gross it was. He said he would see what he could do to fix the problem. He came back awhile later to say that he could have the cooks fry up some fresh tofu if I wanted. Since there was only a tiny bit of pad thai left & I didn’t want to eat a plate of plain tofu, I told him not to worry about it. He came back a minute later with a plate of plain tofu saying that he had already asked the cooks to make it. Why the junk did he ask me if I wanted him to do that if he had already done it!?! When the bill came, there wasn’t any kind of discount to make up for the nasty food. And again it was the female that helped me take care of the bill. If I hadn’t been trying to have a nice evening with my daughter, I would have raised a stink about it all. Instead, I just won’t be going there again!
Don’t try it. Worst meal on north shore. Pad Thai tasted like vinegar noodles, Bangkok night tasted like rancid oil. Tom yum soup was salty. Prices were very expensive for terrible in edible food. My guess is cooks are not Thai as the seasonings were all wrong for Thai food. If you want great Thai, go to Opals Thai near Long Drugs?
Service was very nice but food was disappointed…. I have heard the food here was good but as for me other places are much better… Taste so salty… Sticky rice was too hard…. Only ok food was pat thai.. ;(
Good, wish they had more spicy food.
Most excellent. Not authentic, but who cares when it tastes this good? Better pineapple fried rice than any I had in Thailand
SO GOOD! Everything is delicious, satay chicken, coconut rice, yellow curry. Amazing thai food!
