Amazing Joint. Went there Jan 2015 for lunch.Place was crowded with a line up. Burgers looked amazing but I had a Turkey Sandwich, fries and cole slaw.The food tasted great! Sat with a couple of locals and had nice conversation.The fries were to die for. Thin cut and cooked to the correct crispness. Located on the main drag in the shopping area of North Shore.Dropped by next door to the surf shop after and bought a NIXON Watch and a long sleeve t-shirt.100% Cool………………………….
Good burger – terrible service. We just went to Kua Aina after it being recommended in several tourist guides. After being stared through for a while, the attendant decided to serve us – attitude included. We were automatically expected to know how the menu worked, and were greated with heavy sighs when we didn’t. Every order or request was a huge effort for the male attendant and made us feel like we were unwelcome in the environment. By far the worst service we have received both on the North Shore and in Honolulu.The burger was good, although lacking avocado (which seems to be a common item missing from the menu), and fries average. Doesn’t compare in the slightest to the dinner experiences we have had the rest of our trip.
Don’t miss the Fish Burger. Perfectly cooked, perfectly sized hunk of delicious fish on a bun. Great way to end a day at the beach. Definitely not a tourist trap.

Awsome Burgers. So this is what you do, go next door to the Grocery store and buy a longboard lager, than bring it to Kua Aina and order a burger (cash only) and sit in the shade and enjoy the moment, you wont me sorry……..cheers
Go for the burgers, stay for the fries! Pretty unimpressed with the burger, although the amount of avocado was exceptional. Fries were delish!
Don’t line up!. Got to Kua Aina and there was a giant line to order. FIgured this was a good sign. Staff was really nice, but was super bummed when I bit into my sandwich. Ordered a grilled ahi sandwich and the ahi was overcooked. Not impressed with Kua Aina at all!
