Two of our favourite restaurants in Waikiki are Sansei Seafood Restaurant and their sister restaurant, d.k. Steak House both located on the third floor of the Waikiki Beach Marriott. We had initially planned on visiting Sansei for their happy hour but it was so busy that we wound up going next door to d.k. Steak House. We originally wanted to order the Notorious P.O.G. that we tried a few years ago at Sansei (a mix of Pau Vodka, Malibu Mango, and POG) but their bar didnt have the ingredients. Instead, we wound up with a Mango Soda (complete with li hing mango slice) and the Lychee Sangria which was refreshing and light in alcohol.First up was the complimentary bread and butter. We didnt want to fill up too much on the bread because we knew our imminent meal would be very filling but we couldnt help ourselves. For my appy, I picked a small Caesar Salad. I liked how garlicky the salad was but they needed to cut/tear down the lettuce pieces a bit more.Soon, our table was completely covered in yummy food. Clockwise from the top left were unbelievably good marinated lamp chops (there were 3 huge portions), the 22 oz 30-day dry-aged rib eye (which I had on my last visit), the Nalo Herb Braised Boneless Kulana Beef Short Ribs, and the 8 oz Filet Mignon and Lobster Tail surf and turf (complete with 2, yes 2, 6 oz cold water Maine lobster tails). In the middle was a big serving of potato souffle and brussels sprouts with bacon. Those lobster tails are really amazing! So much food! The appies are definitely big enough to share. My short ribs were served with a potato-chive fondue, natural jus, and a sunny side up fried egg (a bit difficult to see under the crispy onions). Super fork-tender beef!We were so full after our meal. The prices are pretty much in line with other steak houses but I feel like the food here is some of the best that weve had. pennyandrusty.wordpress.com

Best Steak on the ISland. I ate at d.k’s last week after arriving in Honolulu and got some of the best service and food I have ever had. The aged steak is to die for and we are glad we selected this place to eat.

Outstanding food; impeccable service – we completely enjoyed our dinner here. The steaks were truly the best I hve had in a very long time! Highly recommend.

Nothing short of fantastic. Business traveler. Eaten at every Morton’s, Ruth’s Chris, Del Friscos, etc. and the in-house dry aged beef here (esp for Hawaii) is fabulous. Prices are what you’d expect. Service is 7 of 10. I’d eat here again if I wanted a good steak without thinking about it.

Great Experieces. We have eaten every time we come to Waikiki. The service has always been exceptional. The food has never been worse than very good. This trip we ate here twice and the beef, while not classified as prime was tender enough to cut with your fork. The flavors were exceptional. We are on the road to great food cities 4 to 6 weeks a year and would pick this steakhouse anywhere.

Lots of great reviews, I’m sorry we are from Texas, this place at best is a solid 6. I guess the locals don’t experience real steak. Service was great, atmosphere was average, vale was ok. I won’t make it back…
