Had to see what all the commotion was about from my uber driver, the poke is delicious and fresh. I highly recommend if you want just poke to get the poke fried rice (delicious and it’s sweet taste compliments the rice well) followed up by a half pound of poke.
In a town of extravagant pricing, a couple of places stand out, and this is one of them. Stand at the counter, and choose which of their specialties you want- mostly they focus on poke – marinated fresh fish, although they have some few other choices. Eat at picnic tables, or take out. So busy, all day long, that is amazing to think how much food going out of this little place every day. Recommended by a native- we went back three times during our visit. This one, in case there are others, is near the university.Local flavor.
Amazing little local poke spot. Huge selection with a great price. Fresh tuna and octopus, just make sure you are there early or they will run out.
Not really what I expected. For me the place is not that inviting but the foods are great. I had the garlic chicken and my fiance had the tuna katsu. We both enjoyed our meal and I was really full. I love the fries and those hanging designs in the window. Good price, good food.
Really enjoyed it. We’re not hugely into poke (which they had several varieties of, and we saw a lot of people enjoying it), but we had the fried ahi sandwich and the crab sandwich, and both were completely delicious. The place is like a deli, where you order and pay at the counter, wait for your number to be called. Anything that doesn’t need to be cooked is obviously ready really fast 🙂 I have to say the sauce on the sandwiches and the bread was really good – really made the meal complete. Also love their fries, by the way! Super crispy! Crowded at lunch time on the weekend. They have only a few picnic benches/tables, so a lot of parties shared benches, which was okay. Fairly large parking lot, so it’s easy to get to. Would recommend.

We stopped by for dinner after visiting the farmers market at the mall. I ordered the crab sandwich and the hubby ordered the smokn’ haw’n sandwich. We were both pleasantly surprised by the quality of the ingredients and the delicious flavors. While we were waiting the guy behind the counter offered us free samples of poke, which is like a cold salad. They were also the best we’ve had on the island. We were so impressed by the food and friendliness of the people that we went back the next day for some fish tacos that were out of this world. This place is definitely a hidden gem of Oahu.
