Average Italian. I have been here about 5 times in the past two years. This place has a comfortable family style atmosphere with average tasting Italian dishes. I find that many of the dishes are under seasoned. Staff is always friendly and service is pretty good. BYOB

Pretty Sad!. Went to sabrina’s after reading all the reviews, and knew in advance there was going to be a wait, however 2 1/2 hours for two rather simple pasta dishes!!!! What is so obvious is Sabrina isnin over her head. How can one run a restaurant simply making each dish one at a time? Then when finally got my dish, the presentation was so poor. My penne with cream sauce, peas, mushrooms and Italian bacon was simply poured onto an oval plate straight from the saut pan with no garnish at all, nothing! Then when the amatricianna dish came out 10 minutes later, it looked like chef boy ardee poured right out of the can. A couple times Sabrina could be seen eating or tasting something in the kitchen all the while the customer is sitting over two hours waiting for their entre. We had to asked no less than three times for Parmesan cheese for the salad and then again with the pasta dishes…why??? Although the penne dish had good flavor the amatricianna dish was very bland. Amatricianna is suppose to be spicy and flavorful with Italian bacon not tasteless tomato sauce! What is sad about Sabrina’s is she has a good following and could have a great neighborhood restaurant but the lack of experience of running a kitchen restaurant is going to be the restaurants demise. How many patrons will continue to wait 2-21/2 hours for mediocre food that is poorly presented, all being excused by letting you bring in your own wine?

This is the real deal. Two years ago we were leaving the Fat Greek and stuck our heads in this place. It was around 6pm and the place was empty. It didn’t strike us a place we’d enjoy and Italian food in Hawaii isn’t jaw dropping. Tonight we were headed back to the Fat Greek with auntie and uncle and it was too crowded so we went over to Sabrina’s. Did we have reservations? No, but they did some jockeying and added two places to a smaller round table. Cozy.So Sabrina gives us our menus and we like what we see. She wants to know if we want any appetizers as the entrees take some time. We has some bruschetta and it was extremely good. When the food came we were blown away. Amazing tastes exploded and enveloped our palates. Everything is made to order so be patient, bring some wine and enjoy. We are definitely going back. With reservations. What we had: veal marsala with mushrooms, chicken and peppers with red sauce, spinach and ricotta cheese raviolis, orecchiette pasta (Sabrina’s Dream). This place is a must eat in Honolulu.

Sabrina’s is my absolute all-time favorite italian restaurant outside of europe. When you get there, try be in by 6:00, before it gets busy. Because every dish is made to order, there might be a wait. This however is part of the authentic dining experience, which is to be together around good food and wine. When the delicious and precise plates cone out, you’ll know that it was worth the wait and broken credit card machine. Verdict: Husband and wife giving delicious, authentic Italian in a tacky but intimate setting.

Awesome! Tastes like I’m back in Italy! The homemade pasta was fabulous and there isn’t a corkage fee for wine…finally! Portion size is great 5 of us went and shared everything. The fettuccini in the mushroom gorgonzola sauce is a must. The veil scallopini is succulent and the black ink fetttuccini in a seafood sauce had an amazing spicy flavor. Although some reviews stated that the service was bad and that Sabrina was rude, but we had the opposite experience. The owners obviously take pride in there family owned buisness bc she actually brought us a complementary appetizer bc she thought that the food was going to take a while to make. She also was very friendly and came over to chat with us. I highly recommend Sabrinas!!
