Decided to come here for taco Tuesday which is fish or chicken taco for 2.25Got the fish taco and I like how meaty the fish is. To be honest based on the size, I would not pay regular price for it.Other than that the people are nice and they service was quick. I do have to try the other things on the menu like their poutine since I’m originally from toronto.
Great food! Got the fish tacos and steak burrito while on vacation and will definitely be back! The aioli sauce is unreal so ask for extra to put on everything
I use to eat here almost every day and I miss it like crazy. Cool little shack for fish tacos and plate lunches on the slopes of diamond head. Open one in Nebraska? The slaw on the fish tacos is otherworldly and the makau makai plate is a thing of the gods. Get some Ono fish with pesto on it and eat it with rice one day. Maybe have a burger the next with like a pound of their amazing friggin Mac salad. I’m telling you the mac salad is crazy. It’s just Mac salad, I know, but it’s the greatest Mac salad you will ever have. Whatever you order is going to be really good. They do it all well and they are really friendly. South Shore grill is the truth.
Our favorite meet up spot. These are such good tacos. They’ve been my husbands favorite for years. It’s always fun to meet up with friends and have some awesome cheap bites. It’s a definite place to stop.
Wonderful flavors! Spot on! Lovex the chicken tacos. And the mixture of brown and white rice was a really nice touch!

Some Good, Some Not So Good. My wife and I visited South Shore for two main reasons. First, we had a coupon from our entertainment book for 50% off an entree when another is purchased for full price. Also, we read all the rave reviews and we were going to be in Kapiolani Park so we figured we would try it. South Shore has a really nice website and based on that and the reviews I got the impression it was larger and a little more upscale than it is. This is not bad – it’s just different than I thought it would be as it is actually a little hole in the wall.OK, the bad parts. When we walked in we noticed the place was not clean. The tables and the floor were really nasty dirty. The next thing was that the person behind the counter lacked any customer service skills at all. I am not a hard to please customer. Quite the contrary. I don’t demand much, but a little friendliness goes a long way. His responses were very short and he obviously wanted to take as little time with us as possible. I told my wife I felt like we were dealing with the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld. No pastrami for you!! There was just no congeniality at all. To top that off, it doesn’t have a bathroom for customers which is a disappointment.Now for the good part. The food was really good. My wife had the salmon salad and it had a generous portion of salmon that was cooked properly. I had the garlic fries and a pastrami sandwich. Both were very tasty. Loved the garlic fries and I had the small order because that was plenty of fries.Bottom line is that if I had to give letter grades I would give as follows:Service: DAmbiance/Cleanliness: DFood: B+The food is good but with so many good restaurants around town it’s often the service that makes the difference. So, I’m not sure if we will go back even though we really enjoyed the food.
