We ate at Imari for teppanyaki last night. The location is nice and quiet which fits the Japanese theme well. The service was okay, a bit slow and the chef didn’t engage our table like most do. I had the filet and lobster, my wife had shrimp. The lobster was quite small given the price but tasted okay. The filet was actually good, so we’re my wife’s shrimp. The prices are extremely high so we’re our expectations. Overall decent but not worth the price

What a waste! Have been to tappenaki restraunts before and even the Canadian Prarie ones do it better than this. One trick(onion volcano), no personality and to top it off he messed up the order ever after confirming it before he started to cook. Many better choices in this price range in the area, don’t waste your money!

Okay, just the facts. Imar…. Okay, just the facts. Imari is a very nice Japanese restaurant with a quiet serene setting, this is right about where the positive comments end. The food is sub-par and extremely overpriced. For instance, I ordered the shrimp & vegetable tempura which ran a hefty $33 and was equivalent to a 7-10 appetizer elsewhere. Also, just so the reader is aware, if you take your own bottle of wine be prepared to pay a $33 corkage fee. I do not believe that we will return, and wanted to share my experience with others.

Skip this place. All food came out at different times and we ate at the table that they cooked in front of us. Maybe try again and sit at the table. It’s a different menu. Very over priced for the type of food. Don’t get the garlic rice for $3. Not worth it
