The sushi was excellent! This restaurant has a well developed sushi menu with excellent offerings. Sure… It’s expensive! You’re sitting in the middle of a gigantic vacation attraction to millions of tourist in Hawaii, you’re going to pay to eat over here. Anyway, a great place, well deserving of a 4.5 on food quality.

The service was very good. Friendly staff. The food tasted good it its way over priced. Seems to be a trend on the island. I got the Ahi and it was only a 1/4 in thick. Not worth the $30 some dollars. I can get a better and thicker Ahi steak cheaper on the main island.

I had previously been to the Sansei in Waikiki, and was very impressed, so naturally when I came to the Big Island and was looking for sushi this restaurant came to mind. I took part in the happy hour in which the majority of the menu is half price, and sat at the bar, where I chatted with the chef who later prepared my meal. The service was prompt and the staff themselves were friendly, and the food was exceptional. Highly recommended.

Loved it in Maui and this was just as good! The fish is fresh and the server was so knowledgable! We love the dragon rolls, sashimi platter, tempura shrimp and the ahi tuna. Go and you will not be disappointed!

We ate at Sansei on Maui and the food was incredible. This place in Waikola sucks. Cheap cuts of mushy fish. $20 for a bottle of Kirin. Are you kidding me. $100 for two people for some beer Sakai and a few crappy rolls. Don’t waste your time. Better sushi in Alaska.

I could get better sushi on the mainland. Felt like a chain restaurant not impressed at all. Would not recommend.

Food was very good. The ahi poke appetizer and grilled pork chops were fantastic. My tough to please 12 year old enjoyed the udon noodles with pork. Nice wine selection. Casual atmosphere. Terrific service. A great way to start our vacation following 15 hour trip from east US coast to arrive Hawaii.
