I was concerned with the take out style of service. Well, that was WRONG! We had breakfast, lunch and salad here. Huge portions, really good. The loco moco with kalau pork was insane, as were the Philly and Reuben sandwiches. The pizza I ordered, however, was pretty disapppointing, so I’d avoid that. Stick to the local style food and the sandwiches, they’re killer.
Stopped her for lunch and ordered a couple of wonderful focaccia sandwiches. Both were warm and satisfying. One was a Reuben that was put together perfectly. The focaccia was a pleasant addition to that traditional sandwich. The other was a roasted chicken and Brie melt–need I say more. Cartelized onions topped the melted cheese and it was delicious. The environment to eat outside is nice–though not too clean. Only caveat is that this place has been remodeled in the last couple of years and is a bit more upscale than the previous honest lunch counter it once was. I guess progress doesn’t always help.

Good Bargain. We have eaten here each of the three times we have visited Maui. They have great sandwiches for a bargain on the island. The grilled fish sandwich is absolutely delicious. You will not be disappointed.
I ordered the Honolua Benedict but they don’t poach their eggs! My side of hash browns was meager and undercooked. Everything in there is overpriced.16 Jan, 2012I had the Honolua Benedict but they don’t poach their eggs! The side of hash browns was small and way under cooked. Everything in the store is over priced.
Good breakfast options. Meat lovers omelet with fried nice was a good, savory but not spicy, meal.
Good food; great prices. We hit this place everytime we’re on Maui. We had a lengthy stay of 6 weeks last year and probably had lunch here twice a week. There’s usually a choice of 3 different entree’s and can be had with rice, cole slaw, mac salad. Prices for this runs around 5-6 dollars with a drink costing extra. Get your food, pay in front, and grab a bench on the wrap around porch and look at the varied clientele. Well worth it…
