We decided on Merriman’s as a grand end to Our 2 week Hawaii vacation and it was a spectacular choice. I can’t think of a better final vacation meal. We were staying at the Ritz and so had complimentary shuttle service. We went to the valet and got the van to Merriman’s which is only about 5 minutes away. We arrived at 6:30 for our 6:45 reservation and waited out on the beautiful patio overlooking the Pacific. I took pictures…what a surprise. Up to about 4000 by this time, lol. Then promptly at 6:45 pm they called us to say our table was ready. I had request a table by the rail when I reserved and was not disappointed. We were led to a prime table in the corner by the rail, overlooking the Pacific with a perfect view to see sunset. Unfortunately as predictable as unpredictable as Maui weather is it got a bit cloudy, so sunset was a little blurred, but pretty nonetheless. Dinner was off the charts. I got a wine and my husband a mai tai. We shared two appetizers. Both were incredible. One was an Asian noodle thing with shrimp and beef that was to die for, the other a pork quesadilla that was equally delicious. For my dinner I got the scallops and a fillet. I like that they let you pick two half entries if you can’t decide! My husband had a steak that he said was tender and cooked perfectly. For dessert they bought me a flourless chocolate cake because I told them my birthday was right before our trip. So very thoughtful! It was yummy. It said happy birthday in Hawaiian. We then split an order of cream filled malasadas. I was so stuffed but it was so worth it and great last meal for a most outstanding vacation. Thank you Merriman’s for a most wonderful meal, we will definitely be returning on our next trip to Maui. I highly recommend Merriman’s for outstanding food, service and views.

As it turns out, the cancellation was also for a table for 6, and their spot was beautifully located for us to enjoy a nice evening. We all had different orders, and enjoyed every bite. This was one of the highlights of our vacation.
