Ola’s not the place to go.. Ola’s seems like it would be an awesome place to have a wedding reception, but unfortunately a location cannot show you the shady characters that work at the establishment. Ola’s is not the place where you would like to schedule any gathering for that matter, I attempted to have my wedding reception at Ola’s where my guests, my wife, and myself were stuffed in a corner near the entrance in between two other guest’s table. Where the night prior I had seen a table placed out on the beach area away from other customers and in a more private manner. We were not in Ola’s more then five minutes, when we were approached by the manager and the chef telling us that we were disturbing other customers in the restaurant and that we had to leave and would not be served in their restaurant. Ola’s single handedly ruined my wedding reception and wedding day. I would recommend anybody who is planning a wedding or anything sort of gathering on oahu, to not have it at Ola’s.
Wish I had time to go back. I really enjoyed the dinner at Ola. We were a walk-in on a weeknight and although they had a table in the main dining area, we opted to wait so we could sit on the beach. Our server was friendly and the food was delectable. I had become a huge fan of Ahi Poke and this was probably my favorite of all the Poke I had. We enjoyed a bottle of wine with dinner and I must say it was one of the most romantic dinners I’ve ever been to. The atmosphere alone is enough to create romance but coupled with great food and service it was fantastic.
Lunch with a view. Brought my elderly parents here for lunch one day during our recent Hawaiiain vacation. Great food, reasonable prices and really friendly staff. Best of all, you’re eating ocean side with a spectacular view.
The prime rib was frozen meat, I ask for medium and it was weldone. Th broccoli was burned and the manager, she didn’t even care. Very bad!
Save your money. Beautiful view, terrible food. They were also out of almost all of their beer, having less than half of the listed beers available. The goat cheese nachos were not what we expected, didn’t even taste like goat cheese. The pork sandwich was watery, with a soggy bun. Will not be going back.
Perfect Valentine Dinner. While visiting Oahu this past week I was fortunate to be taken to dinner on Valentines Day to Ola. The restaurant was beautiful and our table sat right on the beach but the food really made the night special. Everything served was fresh and perfectly prepared. The wait staff were wonderful, very attentive, helpful and so knowledgeable about the menu. The presentation was so beautiful it was almost hard to eat. Almost. Yum, so delicious.
Recommend. We ate six meals at Ola’s over a nine day period while at Turtle Bay Resort January 2013. We would highly recommend it for food, service and the ambience that includes superb view from being on the beach. Prices were pretty much within our expectations given location. Obviously, we went back and back and back. Ahi Tuna….Kalua Pork…..etc. All good.
