A Must Visit on The Big Island. Ice Cream was a big part of our family’s recent Hawaiian vacation on The Big Island, and Gypsea was a delicious discovery. I just wish we could have gone more than once!Owned and run by a delightful couple, Gypsea provides a wide variety of unique and popular gelato flavors. It is hard to limit oneself to a reasonable number of flavors and scoops especially when you are encouraged to taste everything that catches your fancy.I chose a scoop of delectable salted caramel dark chocolate, macadamia nut paired with a creamy canoli. Both were mouth watering. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his scoops of Macnut Trail. I confess I practically licked my cup clean.I’ve had gelato in many places including Italy and Greece, and Gypsea Gelato is in my top 5 favorite gelaterias. Nice little shop, very friendly owners, and delicious gelato and sorbet … What’s not to love? Make sure to schedule a visit to Gypsea Gelato if you are in the area.
