Authentic. The Japanese cuisine is authentic. Happy hour is busy, staff are friendly and the food is very good. I was so glad to find the busy had survived over the past 10 years while others have closed. Step of the tourist path for this foodie find. Sacramento Business Woman
Very difficult to top the quality on this place. Manager, Corey, is an excellent guy who makes sure you have an excellent time. The spicy tuna and the Kakiage rolls are must-haves.
Best agedashi tofu ever. Excellent Japanese in Kona, the agedashi tofu was the best I have ever had and the hand rolls myself and my friend had were extremely tasty. Complements to the chef! The service is excellent, particularly that of Mikala who has worked there since the restaurant opened. Definitely go there. Value for money, friendly service and importantly, excellent food!
Sushi for people who don’t like sushi! Fantastic if you fancy being able to say you’ve had sushi and you really don’t like the thought of it, because this has the most tasteless and apparently prefrozen fish I’ve eaten. The dynamite shrimp are crap by the way – greasy and largely tasteless. On the plus side, the wasabi was very fresh and the drinks good, so you can drown your sorrows comfortably after attempting to make your sushi taste of something.
Way over priced for what you get!. Way over priced for what you got. Don’t recommend ordering the combination meals – better off ordering individual sushi, sashimi or rolls. Very small selection of rolls. We have better sushi in Idaho.
A great find that is not on the usual merriman’s, thibault, etc foodie rounds. But this is a must visit: avocado and ogo salad and duck confit must be ordered on your visit here.
Great food. For some reason our concierge never mentioned this place in Keauhou Shopping Center, but we are so glad we found it. Servings aren’t belly buster size, but who needs that? Waitress Dani very helpful and dead-on with suggestions. Complaints we saw about slow service are questionable. Their either slammed with 50 percent off sushi hour or happilly listening to tourists relate their day’s drive (as though no one has EVERY been on the one road around the island before them.)
