Best tempura ever!. Great food and prices. Prices have not changed much in last decade. Still family owned and run. I think there was one night where there were four generations of teshimas working, including the grandma who I think just made 100. This is definitely a kona landmark and worth the ten or fifteen minute drive out of town. Must have the shrimp tempura!!!!

Homestyle Japanese Food – Hawaiian Classic. Teshima’s is true hawaiian-style food and hospitality. Been that way for the decades I have been dining there – I wont say how many decades that is exactly. Do not miss the tempura.
Classic place for simple Japanese. This place has been around forever. Great local food and Japanese staples (think yakisoba, curry, teriyaki, rice omelettes, grilled fish, tempura, etc, not sushi), at very reasonable prices in a friendly atmosphere. We make a point of going here at least once or twice whenever we’re on the Big Island.
