I went to Cafe O’lei for dinner yesterday. NEVER AGAIN! Beware diners: I’ve been to this restaurant 5 times in 3 years and only had ONE good experience. And that time was due only to the friends I dined with. Yesterday however, I found a course, very curly hair (use your imagination) in the Scallop Dynamite! When we told the waiter, he was somewhat apologetic, and he told the manager who didn’t even come over to our table. But the manager did, through the waiter, accuse us of putting it in the food! On my way out, for the vary last time ever, I went and found the manager, Kimo, and again he basically accused me of putting the hair in the food. Never again. Disgusting!
Great cuisine here! Not your classic boring seafood, but delicious classics made with fantastic ingredients. Had the seared ahi which was absolutely delectable, the daikon that was garnished on top, nicely complemented the ahi. Only problem I had with this place was the hostess and wait time.
