A super popular place in Kihei. The lineup can go out the door, but service is quick and efficient.Order at counter first then grab a table outside (they are VERY particular about that) and they will deliver food to you. Hard to find a spot especially if a big group but theres hidden indoor seating beside the adjacent restaurant, convenient if it rains.I would recommend ordering the French toast or pancakes – both are delicious with fresh fruit topping (banana or pineapple), coconut syrup and a dollop of butter that I initially thought was a scoop of ice cream. Mmmmm. Reasonably priced too, about $10 each. Best breakie we had during our stay.
Like other reviews, this place is busy with the line going out the door. The line moves fast though and you receive your food shortly afterwards anyway. I ordered the eggs benedict while my husband had the eggs with bacon, biscuits and gravy. We also ordered a side of toast and the chicken with apple sausages. Unfortunately I did not really enjoy my eggs benedict and found them quite boring. Luckily I ordered the sauce on the side as well because the hollandaise sauce was horrible. My husband enjoyed his meal though and the chicken with apple sausages were definitely something we had never tried before.
The Kihei Caffe was pretty damn good, I got a Crab Cake Benny, first one of those Ive had, so I dont necessarily have anything to compare it to, but it was fantastic, the potatos that came with it were pretty terrible though I aint gonna lie, bland as hell (I really never eat the potatoes though anyways so it didnt ruin anything for me) The lady friend got the French Toast with Strawberries, and she swears they were the best shes ever had. My only gripe other than the potatoes was that you had to pay before eating, which I guess is standard for a caffe, but oh well!
I’ve been here several times. So far, you can’t go wrong. The omelette are huge. The pancakes and French toast (get some of the toppings!) are incredible when paired with their coconut syrup, which is provided at every table. The fried rice is incredible. It’s a weird thought to have it for breakfast, but it works. The breakfast burrito is great, though a little heavy on the potatoes. The cinnamon rolls are soft and really sweet. The line is typically really long, but loves fast and it’s impressive how fast they get the food out. Only complaint is it’s cash only.
The 4 egg omelet was awesome. Place only takes cash. ATM is at the adjacent gas station. Place is packed. Coffee was good. I’d go backBanana toast good too.
We go for breakfast every time we stay in Wailea. Go early and avoid the rush, although we were in Maui mid May so had no problem getting breakfast at 9 am. Food is super good – deluxe chorizo, egg, potato and guac burritos; cowboy french toast; local moco prepared just right; fried rice; big fruit cup; tastey coffee … just can’t eat it all. They have expanded seating since our last visit, so indoor and outdoor seating now. It is right across from the park/beach, so nice view and convenient Service is always friendly, just follow the rules (no holding seats while standing in line) so everybody can get a seat and enjoy the morning.
The Kihei Cafe has a very laid back casual atmosphere. There is a line to self order; however, food is delivered to ayour table promptly after placing your order. It is a cash only establishment but there is an ATM machine on site. Breakfast is the draw. It is some of the best breakfast on the island …. the traditional American breakfast of 2 eggs, hash browns, bacon or sausage and biscuit/toast is always perfect. The omelets, banana macadamia nut pancakes with coconut syrup, and the pork rice are awesome. Much to the surprise of many, the chorizo and eggs is authentic and good. The wait staff is friendly and efficient. It is refreshing to just sit outdoors and view the ocean. There is also an awesome shopping village almost next door.
