I WAS IN THE MOOD FOR A PIE AND I FIGURED A GOOD PLACE TO GO WAS A PLACE CALLED MAUI PIE AND HOLY GROLY WERE THERE WERE SO MANY PIES AND THE SERVERS SEEMED TO KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT PIES EVER SO IT FELT LIKE THE UNIVERSITY OF PIES AND THAT EVERYONE THERE WERE PHD IN PIES AND I DIDN’T KNOW WHAT A HAUPA WAS AND THEY EVEN EXPLAINED TO ME WHAT THAT WAS SO I FIGURED THAT WAS WHAT THEIR SUB SPECIALITY MAJOR AND THERE WAS SO MUCH PIE AND HAUPA KNOWLEDGE
Cherry pie was delicious, especially the pastry which crumbled as you cut into it. Unfortunately they were out of apple pies so wasn’t able to give that a go.
Try the coconut cream pie and the chocolate cream haupia (coconut jello-type topping layered on chocolate cream – incredible!) pie. You won’t be disappointed. Better than the gelato next door.
Fun spotless and bright and best of all, pies. Lots of favourites like the American Classic apple to more tropical like Coconut Cream, Banana Cream, Key Lime and a couple of unique Hawaiian Pies. A passion fruit cream pie called Lilipoi and Chocolate cream pie made with local chocolate. Tried and shared the Banana Cream and the Coconut cream and both were excellent. If you’re not into sweet they have savoury pies as well. Have no idea which one I’ll try next. 😉
