Impeccable. Excellent food, creative cocktails. The service is knowledgeable and courteous. The decor is splendid as is the ocean view from the bar at sunset. Great place to unwind either for lunch, dinner or cocktails. There is a good variety on the menu including sushi, salads, noodles, ramen, meat, fish, seafood. Cocktails are original, sake is refined.
Very Good But $$$$. Really enjoyed our experience, but probably not to the tune of $300+ for 3 people (only one who ordered liquor). Appetizers were great, although I would not recommend the Toro Tartare, which was too small of a portion for $29. Entrees (Snapper, Braised Cod, and Duck Duck Goose) were all very good. Service was so-so. Atmosphere and setting are excellent.
Excellent sushi and atmosphere. The sushi combos are the wsy to go. Beautiful presentation. Soup portions are delicious and huge but still a bit overpriced. Overall excellent.
Iron Clad Quality. Having eaten at Morimoto’s other eateries (LA, Philly), I was pretty aware of what to expect and came out of this brand-new location satisfied, but not surprised at all. I was hoping for more local island influence, but chef stuck to his traditional guns and gave us what Nobu and Mr Chow have made their mark with: Quality, fresh fish, a smattering of steak and a very well-to-do sake list. The miso-glazed cod is a staple at these kinds of places and here, it doesn’t disappoint. Just perfectly meaty with a sweet intensity. The service is really quite amazing considering they’re so new, but from speaking with several of the servers, many were outsourced from Morimoto’s other locations across the States. They know their menu and they know it well. This is a great feather in the cap of this new Andaz property. I do love how they stayed away from too much dining room theatrics, keeping the design clean with touches of mid-century modern that made me smile. A very spare dining room that allows the food and service to shine.
