There were two little chickens running around that I was entertained by! I had the poke bowl, which was just awesome, I loved every bite, and I had a mai tai that was superb. My boyfriend had a burger and he enjoyed it but said it wasnt anything out of this world, slightly above average. We will go again when we get the chance.

Tried breakfast here this morning for the first time. Nalu’s is a casual open air, order at the counter, and seat yourself kind of eatery. I had the Omelette Caprese which was fresh and tasted delicious; however, it was a bit skimpy on the vegetables and cheese and was mostly egg. It did come with a nice portion of yummy fried furikake/garlic breakfast potatoes (some of the best I’ve had). My friend had the Bonzai Betty which was a veggie benedict with spinach, avocado, tomato, and eggs cooked to perfection, topped with a lemon hollandaise. Although I didn’t try it, it looked amazing. The portions in general are very generous. You could actually share a plate if you weren’t crazy hungry. If you want a latte, they also have milk alternatives such as almond milk. One of my favorite touches was the variety of fruit infused water set out for you to enjoy. I had what looked like a watermelon, cucumber and mint combination. It was delicious. The service was good, which is not always true for eateries on Maui. Everyone was friendly and helpful from those assisting at the counter where we ordered, to the staff who brought our food and an extra bottle of water, who checked on us to make sure everything was okay, and those who cleared our plates. The food also came out in a very timely manner. I will definitely return to Nalu’s for breakfast!Update: Tried the Omelette Caprese again a few days later and it had just the right amount of vegetables. Was delicious! My husband had the Big Kahuna Omelette and really enjoyed it. He liked that the fried rice was inside the omelette. He even put a dash of the chili pepper water on it, which added a nice flavor. He was a bit concerned at first that it might be too much food hence the name, but it was perfect. Although, I don’t think we need to eat lunch. The little extra surprise was that they handed out cupcakes to celebrate the 4th of July and their two year anniversary.

We had passed by this place several times, and one night decided to check it out. We were not disappointed with our choice.Restaraunt Overall it was very clean, and the open air concept gave it a more exotic feel. FoodThe food was great, and satisfied our two children quite nicely. The amount of food was good, and unlike many places in the States, was well proportioned. ServiceThe service was great, and we were very well looked after. The server, left us alone when she felt she should, but was watchful when she saw we wanted additional drinks. I would recommend heading to this place one time if you are here for a week

This is a casual, order a the country and seat yourself type of restaurant that is extremely popular around breakfast/brunch time. We enjoyed a burger and the fried chicken & waffle with a bloody mary and mojito. Talk about indulgent! Friendly locals sat next to us and chatted us up about our trip and they have a great fruit-infused water station to help keep yourself hydrated. Dogs are welcome!

Great brunch – excellent mai tai with macadamia foam. Ahi Benedict with perfect hollandaise. Friendly attentive service. Loved it! Coming back for dinner…

This place shouts Aloha. We went for breakfast for macadamia nut pancakes which came smothered with pineapple and banana and served with a house made rum syrup, absolutely delicious. My breakfast partner asked for coconut syrup and they were able to accommodate that request as well. The wide open floor plan with outdoor seating and large opening double doors made you feel outside even when you weren’t. The surfer vibe and chilled wait staff are awesome and a visit by the local hen and her brood made it truly a Hawaiian experience. The menu is extensive complete with an item that when ordered helps to support a local charity, they serve good quality home grown Hawaiian food and support the local farmers. A place that is so community aware deserves to be successful, beside the food is amazing. Don’t miss this truly Aloha experience.
