Great Food at an Expensive PriceThis restaurant is formally known as Capishe. Foi Gras Pate appetizer was excellent as well as the roasted duck breast entree. Finally the chocolate molton lava dessert was also very good. Their Mai Tai’s are also good. The service (courtesy of Chris) was also top notch. This restaurant will definitely empty your wallet if you’re not careful, since the prices are all pretty expensive, so please consider that before you dine here. This restaurant is just up the road from Mulligan’s On The Blue in the Hotel Wailea.
Lousy wine list and overpriced salty food.
Terrible food. Tiny expensive portions. Rude staff who refused to serve our children take out (made us go back and order the food from room service) because it was valentines day. In short. Skip it.
Very Surprised. We were a party of 8 and had gone to Capische before. This time we were escorted to a table that was not even set up yet after waiting for 15 minutes. We ordered appitizers and a main course and soft drinks and water. We were never asked if we wanted additional drinks or water. Both pasta dishes were the size of a child’s portion for double the price. We left without ordering deserts as we normally do when we are there. This is not a restaurant that we would go to again. I hope they change their attitude and service policy. This review is meant for this restaurant to take and handle accordingly. Thank you.
Great ambiance! Arrived after sundown so didn’t get to take advantage of the great view. Service was excellent, food was delicious. They have private garden tables you can reserve for those romantic evenings. Menu somewhat limited but the offering is well rounded. I would go here again!
When we arrived we were directed to the bar to wait for our table. We stood there for 5 minutes and the bartender never acknowledged us. We walked back to where the hostess was and she said our table was ready. We sat downstairs in the open. It was very nice. Candles and such burning. The two gentlemen that waited on us were great, knowledgable about the menu and wine. We ordered and the food was out in 15 minutes or so. The food. The food was barely mediocre. I had the cioppino and my wife had the seared ahi. My food, honestly, was just above bad. The shrimp and lobster were like chewing on rubber. Way overlooked. The tomato base was extremely hot and just did not have a good taste. My wife’s tuna was ok. Ive had better at chain restaurants. I’m from Lafayette, la, if ever there go to zia’s restaurant, best tuna around hands down. Overall, I’m not sure why the entrees are so expensive because they are absolutely not worth it. We ate there because we were staying at hotel wailea where the restaurant is located.
Went to Capische for my birthday; they asked if it was a special occasion and when we said yes, I was presented with a well-used card wishing me ‘happy birthday’! I admit I was expecting a complimentary drink, dessert or at least flower. Why bother asking? Food was fair to good; attentive but slow. Very over-priced menu. Views from balcony are great before sunset.
