I had the New York Steak, it was cooked the way I ordered, and it was so juicy. The skin on the potato was a little charred, just the way I like it. The sauted mushrooms was so delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed this place and would highly recommended it.
Nice dinner. We had a very nice dinner hear based on a recommendation from a local. We had the steak, mahi mahi fish and chips, salad bar, and mango-orange creme brulee. The steak was cooked perfectly. The mahi mahi had a good, crisp coating and was displayed nicely. The salad bar is a simple bar, but worth it.Overall, this was a nice experience.
Great dinners. We ate here twice, and both times were treated to great service (courtesy of Chelcy). It was a nice, relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere, with very reasonable prices on both food and drink. The 1st meal I had was the Prime Sirloin. It was 10 oz. Of perfection. Cooked to my requested med-rare temp, and seasoned with fresh ground pepper, I would have been impressed were it more expensive. But this was the most reasonable steak on the menu at only $17. The steaks come with bread and beans, and while I know many people don’t like the al-a-carte structure, it works great for me. I added a salad bar for $3 and some great steak fries.Even though I really enjoyed the Sirloin, I decided to be more adventurous the next time we ate here. I picked the Asian Braised Short Ribs. Awesome flavor with a hint of heat (from Sriracha). The portion was generous, and I didn’t miss the Sirloin too much. All in all, a great experience. Seems like they get locals and repeat visits from tourists. We will definitely come here in the. Future, and would recommend to anyone staying in Upcountry.
You have to meet the 83 yr. old owner!! He makes the place! Knows a lot of history & loves to share it.
This is a blast from the past kind of comfort food place. Your basic salad bar (beets!), basic basic no frills entrees, a place you’d take mom to for her birthday.
