Wonderful food but expensive. Out of the way if you are staying in West Maui. Great view if you are there before sunset. But the best food on Maui.

It’s hard to meet expectations at a restaurant with a great reputation but Mama’s did. Venue is much different from what can be seen from the road, great ambiance to go with exceptional food and service. Yes, it is pricey but not unreasonable.
The setting, practically smack on the beach, is stunning. The building itself is beyond unique. The menu is like no other. They have local fishermen dedicated to providing quality fish to Mama’s (and are even identified on the menu). We spotted at least 2 newlyweds couples as well as couples young and older. It’s a very romantic spot and the food is incredible.
The absolute best dining experience I’ve had in the US. The fresh BBQ’d octopus app, crab and lobster stuffed fish, the soups, the bread, it’s all amazing. Oh, and the view/atmosphere isn’t bad either.
Wow! The Panang Curry was amazing. I could not put my fork down except to keep shoveling it in my mouth. Of course, I only know how to shovel in a lady like way. I took my son for a mommy lunch and they sat us at a two top right in front where we had a weather show. Sunny, to boiling dark skies, to rain blowing sideways and back again to sunny sparkles. I could not ask for a better lunch while on vacation. Thank you Mama. Smooches!
If you want to eat something really local with seafood fished in the sea of Hawaii, this is the place you want to be! Not only the food is excellent but also the place is stylish and much attention is given to the customer.. no doubt many celebs came here. Of course this is reflected in the prices. I tried the Hawaiian special with salmon and mahi mahi which were excellent and associated to many different sides including ahi poke, banana and taro. This is for sure the place you have to go for a special occasion in Maui.
