A must eat in Paia. Or Maui for that matter. Always bustling with a long line of patrons (beach bums, surfers, hippies, tourists). Food was terrific and fresh. Grab a seat at the community style tables and strike up a conversation — you never know what kind of interesting person is right next to you!
Not really a fish market but a solid meal compared to what else is around. Its busy fairly constantly with a lot of frantic atmosphere and the busser (whos awesome) yelling out order number of dummy patrons and tourists that sit and let their food get cold on the counter. Cool little twist on their tatar sauce (cinnamon i believe). My snapper burger was perfect but the lady’s ono was over. Props to the line cooks that knock it out here
We were happy at Paia Fish Market. The person taking our order was very good. Just the right amount of friendly and efficient. Typical of my Hawaii expectations of good to great food at high prices. But if you come to vacation at Hawaii, you have to expect the prices. I’m happy to say the prices were worth if for the most part. The fish tacos were very good. A huge portion that i assumed I’d eat half of, but found myself eating almost all of it. I had the rice side, which i liked very much. My son’s grilled mahi mahi was very good. (I snuck some. ) My daughters fish and chips were only ok. They didn’t have too much batter on them, which was very good. However, they were overdone, in my opinion, and dry. My little quibbling aside, as i say, we were happy there. I probably would go back if i was in Paia. A nice little side trip after flying in. Cute town.
Ahi burger with Cajun seasoning medium rare was the best Ahi sandwich I have had in my life. The Mahi fish and chips were mediocre by comparison. Chips were cold but fish piping hot. Kudos to the business for cordially replacing the chips with hot ones. Overall, I would recommend based on the Ahi burger and customer service.
Delicious. Fish tacos and fish and chips are great!
Really good. Small place, crowded, loud, and totally delicious. First night in town I got the Ahi burger and it was so good that I had to get it two more times that week. Very fresh, seasoned and cooked to perfection. Other members of our group had other items and all were delicious. Parking in Paia can be hard to come by, but it’s worth the trip. Perhaps on your way back from the RtH (if you wimp out and don’t do the full circuit.)
Best Ono fish burger on the island hands down!! The fish is so fresh, tasty, and seasoned well!! If you are not staying in Paia you have to make the drive for this place, and the town is awesome too!
