Amazing Coffee. Try the salted Caramel latte
Hands down the best gelato I’ve ever had. I stayed in Italy for a while and (dare I say it) even they there cannot kick out the great flavor that this place can.
I did not have high hopes for this place but the pistachio gelato was delicious! My benchmark is Sirena Gelato in Kirkland WA.
Tasty. Average ice cream place with tasty ice cream. Reminds me of a Marble Slab.
Gelato With A View. Fresh, creamy Hawaiian-inspired gelato in awesome flavors (try the coconut!) — and ocean views from the back deck. Can’t beat that.
Yummy gelato, mixed-bag service. I’m no expert on gelato, but this did hit the spot as a to-go dessert. Enough different flavors to suit most tastes. But one of the women working there had serious attitude. She made us feel unwelcome immediately as we entered the establishment, was unfriendly while ringing us up, and was visibly miffed when I did not tip. So, if you are a fan of good service, and notice a woman with curly red hair working behind the counter, maybe give it a second thought. Or, if you’re reading this review well after it has been posted, maybe by now management has already given her the opportunity to work at a different establishment.
I like it, but with serious reservations. My husband and I frequent Splendora Gelato in Charlottesville, VA, so I was excited to see a gelato stand during our recent trip to Maui. If the gelato at Splendora is delicious, I could only imagine how good the gelato at Ono would be (what with all the fresh, local and organic ingredients). I was sadly disappointed. First the selection is rather limited, although they do have a good balance of dairy and non-dairy flavors. Second, some of the flavors taste anything but natural. Third, most of the flavors were simply too sweet — it was no surprise that my 4 and 6 year old niece and nephew loved the place and we went back at least 3 times just for them. On the upside, the young women behind the counter are very friendly and are happy to let you sample the flavors before you order. I settled on the Liliquoi Quark (liliquoi passionfruit and local Surfing Goat Dairy goat cheese) and was happy that the tanginess of the liliquoi and goat cheese cut through the otherwise cloying sweetness.
