This was the first eatery once areiving in Kauai today, came here with high expectations from the good reviews.Ordered the Special Saimin, and the Chiffon cake.At the time it was running a full service and the food was quick – took around 10 minutes. The noodles and broth were very simple, but also of good quality.Broth was not too salty like a lot of places, noodles were good quality. The extras in the dish were lacking though and didnt feel special (2 wontons and some spam). The Chiffon cake afterward however was great – not too sweet and was a very tasteful and light dessert.I would recommend here for an easy, quick bite.I didn’t get to try the buns they had as they were sold out – looked good to try too 🙁

Surprisingly nice culinary experience. Based on the building standard, I would never stop over propably. However inside, it was fabulous! We ordered standard bowl of ramen as well as udon and additional fried shrimps. Overall, soups were fantastic and seafood just acceptable. The place was full of friendly local people who tend to come regularly I guess based on their relationship with the staff. Was a good choice, indeed.

Disappointed after lunch there. I was expecting more from this soup which looks similar to a Vietnamese pho soup. The soup itself was tasteless-a but too salty when it come ( you can add spices as you like). The noodles were over boiled too. Luck of flavors made me give it a low rating. Bases on the other visitors’ reviews I was expecting more. Everyone is raving about the desert-chiffon lilikoi pie. It did tasted like passion fruit, but it had huge amounts if starch in it -nothing to die for. If you want to try it, do not go in with high expectations-you’ll be disappointed.

Really great food and very good price. Best place I ate at on my vacation. Seating and parking wasn’t a problem I have no complaints about the restaurant it was great

Great food, but the restaurant has limited seating and parking. If you go on a Sunday, make sure you get there before church lets out. Limited vegetarian items (not a problem for half of my family), the Saimen and BBQ chicken skewers were delicious. Unfortunately the fried Saimen noodles were not available on the weekends. Seating is bar style and you find yourself sitting with strangers family style but it adds to the charm. Cash only.

What I like about. Despite that it is Hawaiian, it is also Japanese too. It’s a combination of soup and noodles, filled with toppings such as ham, shrimp, onions and won tons!

    Lilikoi Chiffon Pie. Delish!
