The most fresh authentic amazing meal!! The owner served and prepared our lunch then packed us bag dinners for our long flights home. The seafood pho aswell as the #15 pork sandwich are wonderful.

Pretty in pink. I still frequent Saigon Deli (by that, meaning two to four times weekly) because of its proximity to my workplace and Mai’s incredible food and hospitality. The chicken pho still garners my highest praise – generous, tender slices of breast meat laid delicately above silky noodles in a savory bowl of comfort – and Mai always remembers to give me extra ng gai, that perilous-looking sawtooth coriander whose flavor bursts with cilantro on steroids with every crunch. But other items do capture my attention: combination bnh m on the rice flour baguette that notoriously bites back, filled with ham, pt and bouncy Vietnamese sausage; garlic shrimp that leaves you a salty, happy mess; the rote but nonetheless delicious lemongrass chicken in a judicious portion that satisfies without bloating; and, Mai’s latest jewel, won ton noodle soup, whose dumplings outrival all other won tons I’ve consumed (I think I can count six others) and whose porky broth, embellished with fried shallots and housemade char siu, I would gladly drink alone as a restorative beverage in this health-threatening weather.Claustrophobics, beware – the small scale of this restaurant, akin to squeezing six dining tables into your bedroom, may have you digging for your Effexor. Luckily for me, a claustrophile who takes lunch at 2, I am usually the sole customer at that hour and can lounge for a bit while sipping iced tea before heading back to work, where my co-workers will know where I’ve dined because of the smile on my face and the lingering aroma my clothes carry with me.
