Long wait, strangely strict about swapping out one side of soup for another. We have been to this restaurant many times and have put up with the very poor service from the waiter because we support all things vegetarian and vegan. We had to draw the line today. The last few times we have gone the male waiter has taken a very long time to do all the normal wait staff things: bring menus, bring water, bring the food and bring the check. Last time we were there we asked if we could have the tempura veggie shrimp without the bell pepper tempura pieces. The waiter said no and then we asked him again and he said he would have to ask the chef. Then he said that yes they could. We weren’t going to go back today but we were hungry and it was close. We asked if we could have the clay pot but instead of the sweet and sour soup side, could we have the branches soup. The waiter said no. Then he said he would have to ask. He came back and said no, they could not swap out the side cup of soup from sweet and sour to bean curd. What is this? Why can’t they swap out a cup of soup one for the other? Same price on the menu. We confirmed that they had bean curd available today. Their pasta dishes are terrible, their portions are small, the waiter is rude and the amount of time it takes to get food is crazy. Your time and money would be better spent at Loving hut, which has two locations close to this one. Don’t waste your time or money.
Went here for valentine’s day. My boyfriend and I liked our meal, however with only one server it took a while to receive our meal. We will be back to try different things on the menu.
Pleasantly Surprised!. We’re not vegetarians, but decided this would be something new to try… needless to say we were pleasantly surprised! We had the vegetable tempura (carrots, mushrooms, green beans & zucchini), summer rolls, tofu-lemongrass stir-fry and a chickun-oregano pasta dish. The chickun was made of a wheat-soy protein and left me feeling satisfied. I did not miss the fact that it was not real chicken! The vegetable tempura was not oily and came with a type of vinegar sauce that was not overpowering. The tofu-lemongrass stir-fry packed a lot of flavor and was very visually appealing! The prices were very reasonable and between the 2 of us, for all the food we ordered, only paid $30. We will definitely go back soon to try the other dishes!
Full of flavor. We recently decided to stop eating meat. We tried this place and ordered the spring rolls, pumpkin soup, the fried tofu, and the curry ramen with noodles. Each dish burst with flavor. It is a small family run place so there was only 1 server during our lunch. Lunch was incredible. We didn’t miss the meat!
Simple Joy Vegetarian Restaurant. This place is a real find. Vegan cuisine, served in a serene atmosphere, is an absolute delight. The best tempura I have sampled, so light and fresh. Healthful, harmonious and reasonably priced full menu. Meat-eating guests loved the vegan dishes, also. Highly recommended by this customer!
