I haven’t been here for a long time… Now I remember why! I had their renowned ribs with BBQ teriyaki chicken. Talk about a huge let down. The chicken was dry, the veggies were pre-frozen (cooked unevenly) and the best part… Their renowned ribs were dry and unseasoned (the teriyaki glazed that was drizzled on after it was cooked was anything but renowned).
Dark Place. Went to Henry Loui’s with so friends who advised me that the place was a bit dark and more like a bar that a restaraunt. They were right on the money.I tried the Hawaiian plate, and it was pretty good. It was also a very big serving as well. The kalua pork was moist and not dry and with just the right amout of salt. It was by far the best thing on the Hawaiian plate which even had a cube of haupia.
Not the worst. Basically pub fare and some ribs thrown in for good measure. The food is okay, prices and moderate and the service needs improvement. If you’re in need of some grub before you get on your plane, give it a try or better yet, get something at the airport.
Decent after-work hangout with friends…. Located in the mixed-use industrial area of Mapunapuna, Henry Loui’s is a good after work hangout to have drinks and have a pretty good meal. The specialty here is its BBQ ribs. For me, I prefer Tony Roma’s ribs but Henry Loui’s holds it own. Other things done well here, is its Hawaiian Plate, Teri Short Ribs and Chicken. The decor is dark and gloomy, like you would expect from a bar, so I wouldn’t recommend this place for young children, families or taking out-of town guests. Service is OK, not to friendly, but they bring your food to you quick.I would recommend this place for an after-work dinner or working lunch. I may not go out of the way, but nonetheless, if I were in the area I would return.
