The Kona Brewery is a terrific place to spend a casual afternoon whilst in Kona. The Brewery boasts a quality selection of ales and can cater to large groups; although wait times can be quite substantial. I was a member of a sizeable group (12 people), so the 20 minute wait was understandable and certainly worth it. To begin our meal, we had the spicy wings and nachos for entree, and they were very enjoyable. I then shared the Portuguese lasagne and captain cook pizza with another person for main course. The lasagne was simply incredible and I must admit that it was probably the best lasagne I’ve ever eaten. The pizza was also delicious, and the mass of ingredients (Portuguese sausage, maple bacon, olives to name a few) tasted fresh and flavoursome. Although the base was thin and crunchy, it must be said that the crust was a little too puffy. Lastly, the Lava flow dessert was luscious and delectably sweet, and the perfect mode by which to conclude the meal. As a whole, the price to quality comparison was quite good, and you certainly won’t leave the Brewery hungry. Throughout the day, service was terrific, and the staff were very friendly. All things considered, it was a wonderful experience, and I would certainly recommend the Kona Brewery.
