Showed up at 3:04 and they refused to serve me because the kitchen closes at 3:00. We had a group of six. Lost business now and in the future with me.
I was adventerous and got the Hawaiin sweet potatoe cassarole. It was made from purple sweet potatoes and it had almonds in it – rich and delicious! I had the ice cream with brownie crumbles for dessert. Yum!
Nice peaceful place .. Smells like a health food store … After hanging out with my low carb hubby this is wonderful Had artichoke humus sandwich & beet soup yummie husband had lasagne
While vacationing at the Volcano National park we decided to go organic at Cafe Ono. The ambiance is nice although kind of disturbing seeing buddas everywhere. People are very nice and food was good and fresh. The only downside is the $7.50 soup ( pricey) and they were ok.
Sweet little lunch spot. My first comment – why not open for dinner? This cafe answers a basic need in Volcano – a restaurant you can enjoy without going broke. Plus, the food is vegan. If you have not tried pure vegetarian food, this is a chance to do so in a delightful atmosphere in one of the most amazing places on the planet – the top of Kilauea volcano. The food is somewhat basic, but prepared with love and served with flair. It is on the light side, and that is good too. It can be daunting to vacation and travel and face one extra rich meal after another, and then have to cut back once you get home. You can get on the email list and receive weekly menus in your inbox complete with photos. It’s a kind of nice touch if you know you are coming to the island and planning a trip to Volcano.
Very good. Not a vegetarin, but lasagna was excellent.
