Pricey but Good Food. The food is very good, but on the pricey side. Service could be a little better. Waitress forgot to serve the bread, very slow on refills if you were drinking non bar beverages.
Breakfast. If you’re staying at the lodge, don’t pass on the included breakfast. There are several selections and all are proceeded by OJ or half a papaya. The papaya are sweet, juicy. The order of french toast comes in three different flavors of bread and is accompanied by cripsy bacon. Although maple syrup is offered, ask for coconut syrup, too. It was sweet but not cloyingly sweet. Service runs the gamut from indifferent to surly, but the excellent breakfast menu makes up for the waitstaff.
Incredible place! I had the beef paupiette which was to die for. The Lilikoi margaritta was fantastic ! The baked brie with coconut crust was very mild and excellent. My Wife had the catch of the day with the papaya glaze, which was a little bland. The Lilikoi cheese cake was superb. Staff was very friendly and offered great suggestions. Definitely worth the price!
Very good for the area. I have eaten here a couple of times. Once you get past the fact that it’s a little expensive it is not that bad. There’s something special about eating at a restaurant so close to an active volcano. The experience alone is worth it. I would go here again.
Too Pricey. This is not my kind of place. It’s very expensive for just OK food. The staff was nice but I just couldn’t get over how just subpar the food was. I dropped almost $50 just on my plate alone and it was way to expensive. If the food was great then I would have no problem putting that money down.I ate Antelope and mashed potatoes with a brie cheese with bread as a app. Yeah I know 50 bucks for just that. It’s just not a place I can suggest you try.
Had to book a late reservation but it was worth it. Great atmosphere, service and food.
