Terrible, aweful, dirty. Lava rock restaurant is THE worst restaurant I have ever been to. Overpriced for pre-cooked food. The portions were small and the service was terrible. We waited over an hour for our dinner and then it came out so spaced out, the first to be served was finished before the last entree was served!!! We felt sorry for the waitress. She realized that we were getting aggravated and kept on apologising to us for the long wait and small portions. This restaurant is not for local people. When we pay for a meal, we expect to be full after we eat. (After viewing the volcano we went to Ken’s Pancake House and had a real dinner!)Save your money…..DO NOT EAT AT LAVA ROCK RESTAURANT!!!!!!! Terrible, terrible, terrible!!!!
Breakfast: – service terrib…. Breakfast:- service terrible (unfriendly and slow)- super long waiting time (1,5 hour for 2 meals) – location loud – super expensive (cappuccino $4.95 ~ No refill !!!) All over all nothing for people which are on the way to the national park !!
Stayed 5 nights at KMC on the Volcano park. Tried this place out last night and let me tell you I am kicking myself for not coming here sooner. Hubs had the special that night prime rib, it was so good I feel like I ate to much of his plate to be honest. I had the chicken Alfredo and it was good, didn’t like it as much as the prime rib but it was filling and didn’t taste like it came from a can. Could have used some more Parmesan cheese. We liked it so much we came back the next day for lunch and this is what I have to say about that. Ignore everything else on the menu and get a burger! Local grass feed beef to die for!! So good! I had the bacon chesseburger and my husband the teriyaki burger and they were both amazing! Could not have asked for anything better. Loved this place and we will be coming back if we ever come back to big island.
Hamburgers are good, try liliko’i added to your tea! Service fast and friendly. Nasty bathrooms though!
Food was wonderful and the chorizo patty was to die for
Try the island salad… So good. When in the area I’ll order it every time. Split it with my wife who loved it too. So big. We shared her hamburger too which was excellent.
Surprisingly delicious. Not to expensive compared to other restaurants on the island.
