Used to be great. I have eaten at the Kobe Steakhouse several times in previous years and it has always been a fun and enjoyable dining experience. However, I have not been there for several years – which, I think was the last time they put any $$ into the restaurant. I would describe it as old and tired inside to the point of becoming almost run down. We took our nieces as we thought it would be a fun show for them. Not much of a show. The chef basically cooked the dinner at the table and that was it. No flare whatsoever. The food was ok but overall, a total letdown as an experience. If u r looking for that type of meal, do yourself a favor and walk around the corner to Benihana. We walked by after dinner and it was crowded and looked a lot nicer.
Why all the bad reviews?. Coming from Canada, the Kobe in Waikiki is cheaper than the Kobe back home. Don’t waste your time getting sushi but the food off the grill is fantastic. We had a great chef who asked us how we wanted out steaks cooked, did it perfectly and even suggested that we have the fat cut off and cooked further for more flavor! I didn’t know what you can do that. The fried rice was a really good show to watch and it was garlicky goodness. As a group, we were able to try the fish and shrimp as well as different cuts of steak. Coming from Alberta, I’m picky about my steak but this place was great.
Really enjoyed our meal here. Brandon our chef put on a good show and explained everything he was doing to us which was a nice touch. Everyone loved their meals, I had the sukiyaki steak which I thought was perfectly done. It was a bit weird and awkward having to share a table with another group though.
Be prepared for a wait. I arrived at my reservation time, informed we were to wait for a table for ten mins ( more like close to thirty). Food was great though- I loved the steak but thought it was odd the drinks were $4 with no refills.
Great food!!!. Been coming to this place since I was a kid and couldn’t love it more! The food is amazing and definitely a huge meal!
Amazing sushi bar though really overpriced
Do you like bad sushi? Then Kobe Steakhouse is the place for you!By far the worst sushi I have ever eaten. Everything was covered in mayonnaise, took forever to get there, and was served with disdain at best. Get the mussels, as they are the only thing worth eating in this overpriced hellhole.
