Truly Wonderful Fast Sushi To Go. There is a smell that the best sushi restaurants in Japan share–something incredibly clean and, perhaps, absent. That smell–the absence of anything offensive–fills the air at Kozo Sushi. This is the outlet I favor most, the one on King in Moiliili. But everyone of them is very good. I have been to every Kozo Sushi, and have never been disappointed.Most of the time, when I order an egg maki or chicken teriyaki maki or battera (saba/mackerel) my order is made at that moment, behind the scenes. The cashier, behind the counter, has learned that I like plenty of gari (shoga/ginger) yet don’t like to pay extra for it–so she steps behind the noren and gives the instruction for extra ginger in my tiny, thin to-go boxes.Is there a better meal or snack to take home, when you don’t feel like cooking? Or to sneak into the movie theaters? Not when it’s this delicious, and this fresh.Go. Now.
