Very inhospitable, unfriendly staff. This staff here are extremely grumpy. When we arrived, one of the kitchen staff was having her dinner at one of the tables. When the boss muttered that she had to vacate the table for us, she swore in Vietnamese, not realising we could understand every word. Very rude indeed!

The food was good but the service was pretty bad for a Saturday night with only two tables in the restaurant. The server seemed annoyed that I wanted to share a large bowl of pho and a bahn mi with my Mom (who had never had it before) and gave us practically zero service after we ordered. He did not offer to refill our water before he sat down to eat his own meal. And when we paid, they charged 50 cents more than the menu price for the bahn mi and said they had not changed the menu yet. But the kicker was that the sandwich was $6.50! That is outrageous for a bahn mi. They are half that price in Atlanta and the rest of the US. The soup was great but they lost points for no peppers or cilantro and lemon instead of lime. All in all, I would try another Vietnamese restaurant in Honolulu before I would come back here.

In Waikiki and walked past this place several times. It looks a little scary but I am so happy I gave it a try. It’s a mom and pop operation and I agree the service leaves something to be desired. It is definitely no frills in both service and decor. The salad rolls were delicious. We watched them being made fresh. The peanut sauce served with them was not as salty as it usually is which I appreciated. The pho was excellent. Huge bowl for $7. The beef was tender and the broth rich and delicious. The basil and sprouts were ultra fresh. Best of all was a meal under $15 in Waikiki! Note they don’t serve liquor if that is important to you.

When you walk in the first thing you notice is the overwhelming smell of basil. At that moment you know it will be phenomenal. I got the pho ga (chicken) and my wife got the beef. Best Vietnamese food we have ever had.

Absolutely the best Pho I have had save Vietnam. Fresh tasty quick and FULL of flavor. Service was fine! I came just after lunch rush so there were several tables still in disarray but tht was quickly taken care of and I had my food within 5-10 minutes. Too bad others had bad experience with service here. In my opinion TOP NOTCH!! I only had pho and it was fantastic!! Don’t miss this awesome place at a great price in Waikiki.

I Will Never Eat Here Again. I will never eat at this place again. It was nice having a Pho restaurant right out my front door but the service is horrible. First of all they got my order wrong. Then they tried to explain to me how some extra noodles instead of meat will cost $1.50. Here’s a little news flash, rice noodles don’t cost more than steak. The final straw for me was when my 1 yr old daughter accidentally spilled her noodles on the floor and the owner actually started talking crap to me. We had apologized and my wife had even picked up all the noodles herself. I can’t believe the disrespect of the owner of this business. I would recommend you walk 2 blocks away to Pho 777. They will treat you better and it’s a nicer establishment.

Check this place out! It is a gem. This place is super cheap, the foods amazing, and it’s BYOB! You must try the fried spring rolls and the green papaya salad is the best I’ve ever had! I always get the steak pho too!
